So what's the community like now?
Compared to like... a year ago. A year and a half ago? Two years ago?
Is it uber dead?

Lurk some more.
Or look back through all the closed threads here. That should give you a pretty good idea.

I figured as much; guess I won't bother restarting or anything. I guess I need a new MMO/CO/RPG.

I know what you mean; I've played since release, and had my share of PUGs and solo. But frankly, I still desire some form of communication when I play. H/H just don't provide. I mean, even if it's a chest run in FoW... sure, you're not actually killing anything, and you COULD do it solo, I'm sure a lot of people do, but it's more fun when you have a group.

Guild Wars. There are still plenty of good, active guilds if you like doing things with people.

Without a good guild or active friendslist this game is as dead as it can get for you.
There is almost no outpost where people look for parties, because we love heroes. At least they rape noobs in PvP and are my best friend in PvE.
This game had a lot of negative changes.
Edit: Man am I glad that I have both... an active guild AND active friendslist.

The community isn't dead. It's more like thousands of people are trying to find new things to post about and they are failing.
Other than the april update.. there isnt much going on.

Support to my "opinion"? Logging on the game, for one. There are plenty of people running around, recruiting for guilds, and selling things. As for using this forum's activity as a gauge for the entire game... Well i'm sure even you see the flaw in that.

We are all waiting for Arenanet to unleash the great mysteries of the infamous "April Update" and Guild Wars 2". The current game still has alot of people playing but the novelty is wearing off. We need something good and new to keep us motivated here.

You are in a Guild right? Looking at how you scoffed at people posts mentioning that very subject it appears you aren't. You can't complain about lack of contact and communication with people if you aren't even making use of an obvious feature the game has for that very reason. If you ARE in a Guild, sounds like you need a new one.

Nah theres a lot of annoying kids or people who act like them in game. but then again there is wherever you go in life. I personally am able to play the game how i like it without any problems with the community.
The problem is your more likly to talk about negative situations in the game mroe than any situation where peopel have been particularly nice

meh, wouldn't says it's dead. i would just say it's different. grouping is only worth it with guildies. people are less welcoming with random people.

The community I once knew thrived on talking about the changes to the game and how players should adapt to these changes to do better in PvP or PvE.
Lack of updates screws this up hard. Expect minor shifts in gameplay and bursts of community activity every month when ANet makes lulzy balances, and shitstorms every three months when people complain about new content, future new content, and make more heavy speculation.
